Last modified date

This pandemic has been a huge challenge to mankind since the break of World War 2.
Neither money nor power can hinder the spread of this pandemic. It has affected millions of people worldwide. Its impact has cost economic downfall to many nations.

The spread of this virus is quick and the most vulnerable populations are at risk. Our elderly population is usually the ones at risk and has a greater chance of acquiring the virus. It is scarier if this virus spreads in a refugee camp or residents living in the slums. Where social distancing and proper sanitation are rarely practiced.

Good leaders are needed during times like these. Many countries are focusing on responding to the pandemic. Countries are striving to cope with its destructive effects.

This pandemic taught people so many lessons. Norms and policies have been reshaped in response to COVID-19.

Here are the important lessons this Pandemic has taught us:

1.) Early warning system we can trust
It is clear that we need an early warning system to alert us of future crises. Climate change and pandemics are a few of these crises. Having a warning system we can rely on is very important. This will help us prepare for whatever crises the world could face in the future.

2) Internet Literacy is important.
Even if we are in the Digital age many are still illiterate about the internet. This includes the gadgets that come with it. Internet access is vital nowadays. Since it’s safer to stay at home, we do any transactions online. Learning how to navigate the Internet is a must these days. Having a gadget that can access the internet is also a must. 3) Digital Access should be available to all.
It will be useless to learn about the internet if people don’t have access to the Internet. We cannot access the Internet without Broadband. The Internet should be available to all. Digital access should be available in every home, like water and electricity.

4. Improvement of Healthcare System.
This Pandemic has caught us unguarded. We were not ready for a crisis like this. Hospitals were not prepared with the sudden influx of patients. We lacked so much in facilities, PPE’s, medicines, and equipment to help battle the virus. We should expect these things in the future. This is a challenge for all world leaders.

5. Healthcare to All
Everyone deserves good health. Health care should be accessible to all and no one should be left behind. This pandemic served as a wakeup call to everyone. It has taught us a lesson in life that no one is immune to any virus. Let’s treasure our health. learn to listen to our body and give it the good nutrition it needs. A healthy immune system is very important to fight off disease and viruses.

It may sound simple but these lessons are important to keep in mind. We will be prepared in case a more destructive crisis occurs.
